On March 4, 1993, Jim Valvano was awarded the inaugural Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award at the first-ever ESPY Awards. Despite being weakened from his fight against cancer, he delivered an energetic and inspiring speech that brought the crowd to its feet.

There are many friends and family that we know that have or have had cancer at some point in life. That is why team "All In The Family" is out there raising money for the cause throughout the year. While the Cancer Dancer Benefit Dance is the primary event of the teams efforts there are other things that add to the final results.
